The warranty doesn’t cover:
- incorrect assembly or installation
- damage from accidents, crashes, neglect, unauthorised repairs, inadequate maintenance, or abnormal, excessive or improper use
- corrosion or environmental damage to any part of the frameset or Pearson-branded components
- damage from modifications, or from fitting parts or accessories that weren’t intended for, or aren’t compatible with, the bike
- missed servicing or maintenance at the intervals set out in the Product Manual or our other written instructions
- normal wear and tear, including cosmetic ageing from ordinary use, such as small paint chips from road debris
Nor does it cover failure or damage from misuse, including poor maintenance, neglect, abuse, incorrect installation or alteration, impact damage, or using the product for something it wasn’t designed for.
Corrosion or deterioration caused by material fatigue, the natural breakdown of materials under repeated loading, isn’t covered either.
Consumable parts
Wear and tear on consumable parts isn’t covered, unless a part fails because of a manufacturing defect. These parts include the cassette, chain, bearings, brake pads, tyres, bar tape or grips, transmission parts, brake discs and brake cables.
Clothing
Clothing, helmets and footwear aren’t covered for accidental damage, incorrect care, normal wear and tear, colours or materials fading over time or with use, rips, tears, abrasion, holes, burns or shrinkage. Cosmetic issues don’t affect how clothing performs and aren’t treated as a warranty fault.
Framesets
Framesets bought from us are covered by our frame warranty, but it may be void if the bike isn’t built by an authorised dealer or a qualified bicycle mechanic. If you make a claim, we may ask who built and services your bike.
