Cycle to Work is a government scheme, offered through your employer, that lets you get a bike and accessories by salary sacrifice. Payments come from your gross salary, before tax and National Insurance, so you can save up to 48% depending on your income.
Your employer leases the bike to you for the term of the agreement, and you repay it monthly from your salary, usually over 12 to 18 months depending on the scheme. There’s no down payment: your first payment comes out of next month’s salary. At the end of the term, you buy the bike from your employer for an ownership fee.
We accept vouchers from most major providers, including Cyclescheme, Green Commute Initiative, Halfords Cycle2Work, Bike2Work, Vivup and Evans. If we’re not yet registered with your employer’s provider, we’ll set it up while you wait.
How to apply
- Ask your HR team which scheme your employer uses.
- Build your bike on our website, add it to your basket and choose the Cycle to Work payment option. This reserves your bike.
- Give the specification to your HR team or scheme provider. With Cyclescheme, use the code ‘Pearsons’ to find us.
- Once your application is approved, you’ll receive a voucher or invoice. Send it to us and our customer care team will complete your order.
If you’d like to secure a bike before your voucher arrives, we may ask for a fully refundable deposit.
Our administration premium
Cycle to Work providers charge us up to 15% of each voucher to process it. To cover this, we add a premium of 10% of the voucher amount, capped at £300. You can include it in your voucher as part of the total cost of the bike.
Once we’ve received payment, you can collect your bike from a partner dealer, or we can hand deliver it for £150. See our Cycle to Work page for full details.
